  • DESENSITIZATION TO SEPTRA OR - There are published reports of about 150 patients undergoing "desensitization" and in some cities, desensitization is the standard of care. It is believed that by starting with extremely small doses of TMP/SMX and slowly increasing the dose, the "allergy" systems of the body develop a sort of tolerance to the drug and do not react to it.
